Ready, Partnered, Lethal. For the United States’ 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, it’s more than a motto — it’s the ethos of a life forged by constant training, teamwork under pressure, and the hard edges of coming of age at sea.

On Nov. 10, the new documentary series Marines goes inside the US military’s “force in readiness” in the Pacific. With unprecedented access, the series captures the unit’s rigorous training exercises alongside personal moments of young Marines working and looking out for each other.

Check out the trailer below for a first look into the life of the 31st MEU, and read on for more intel on Marines ahead of its premiere on Netflix.
