Mae Martin’s very good month (you’ve seen that Brett Goldstein video, right?) continues with the news of their hour-long comedy special debut.

The comedian is returning to Netflix with Mae Martin: SAP, launching globally on March 28.

Directed by Abbi Jacobson, the new stand-up special sees Martin reflecting on a world off its axis — taking on everything from past relationships to an encounter with a mythical moose, the gender spectrum in Beauty and the Beast and beyond (including a Buddhist parable involving tree sap, of course).

The special, which was filmed in Vancouver’s historic Vogue Theatre as part of Martin’s most recent tour, arrives nearly two years after their series Feel Good ended its two-season run on Netflix. The semi-autobiographical dramedy, which Martin co-created, wrote and starred in, received widespread acclaim for its razor-sharp explorations of love, addiction and identity, cementing the performer as a major comedic force.

Martin previously made their Netflix comedy special debut with a half-hour set in Comedians of the World in 2019, in addition to performing in the Stand Out: An LGBTQ+ Celebration special as part of the Netflix Is a Joke Fest earlier this year. They most recently appeared on the second season of HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant
