Viewers around the world fell in love with the Australian twentysomethings looking for love over the first two seasons of Love on the Spectrum, and now a group of young Americans (and one young-at-heart dater) will have their chances in the first season of Love on the Spectrum US.

With the help of autism coach and expert Jennifer Cook, who was diagnosed as being on the spectrum at age 35, these neurodivergent young adults are set to navigate the complex dating world — some for the first time. Below, meet the six singles looking for love.

Age: 26 Hometown: Los Angeles Raised mostly by her aunt and uncle in California, this animation enthusiast is dedicated to her art. She teaches animation to children on the autism spectrum across the country and, occasionally, around the world. Dani founded her own animation company at just 11 years old and hopes to find someone as motivated to succeed as she is. Sparks seem to fly immediately with the first date producers set her up on, but will those fireworks last?
Visit Dani’s animation website, check out her portfolio on DeviantArt, or follow her on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Age: 23 Hometown: Los Angeles Disney enthusiast and animal lover Abbey is hoping to find a loving boyfriend like the one she had in high school. Fellow animal lover David, who shares her obsession with big cats, birds and all creatures from the animal kingdom, seems to fit the bill so far. She runs a popular TikTok account, ostensibly in support of her hat-making business, but also posts about her life and her favorite things (like Disney characters and animals).
Visit Abbey’s online hat shop, watch her music video for her original song, “The Girl Inside,” on YouTube and follow her on TikTok.

Age: 34 Hometown: Boston Boston native James was bullied in high school, but, in adulthood, he has taken up several hobbies where he’s made plenty of like-minded friends. He’s proud of his long hair and is passionate about dressing up for the Renaissance fair. He’s dated a few girls but is looking for a long-term relationship.

Age: 24 Hometown: Greenville, South Carolina Kaelynn lives with her best friend, Gracie, and, like plenty of other twentysomethings, she’s had her share of terrible online dating experiences. After growing fed up with seeing so many dating profiles with hunting trophies, Kaelynn decides to give speed dating a shot . She doesn’t disclose her diagnosis to any of the men right away because she’s had bad experiences when they find out she’s on the spectrum. She works as a behavioral therapist for autistic children.

Age: 32 Hometown: Long Beach, California This Southern California native is close with his family and even lives with his sister. He loves to cook and excels at math — but he’s never been on a date in all his 32 years. He’s ready to take that step, though and looking for a long-term love and someone with whom he can travel the world.

Age: 63 Hometown: San Francisco Like Subodh, Steve has been single his entire life. The difference: He’s 63. Having been diagnosed with autism late in life, Steve creates an online dating profile, with help from his assistant, and begins his search for a soulmate. Excited to begin his dating journey, he’s not giving up hope of finding a partner to spend his life with.
