


New York artist Mira is madly in love with her boyfriend John, and the pair are just a few cuddly nights on the couch away from getting engaged. But tragedy strikes — John dies, leaving Mira reeling with despair. Years later, as she gets back on her feet, she texts John everything that’s on her mind. But on the other end is actually a very alive guy named Rob.
Written and directed by James C. Strouse (The Incredible Jessica James), Love Again stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sam Heughan, and Céline Dion. The film also features several songs by Dion and a cameo from Chopra Jonas’ real-life hubby, Nick Jonas. Love Again is an American remake of the 2016 German film SMS für Dich.

Mira, a children’s book author and illustrator, is head over heels in love with her boyfriend, John. The couple is smitten, and John’s days away from proposing — but then he dies in a tragic accident. Beside herself with grief, Mira goes home to her parents house to recover. Two years later, she moves back to NYC to start over again. She’s still too distraught to do much of anything, until she receives sage advice from a widower: Talk to him like he’s still here. So she starts texting John’s old phone — but the phone number’s already been given to someone else. On the other end of the texts is Rob, heartbroken after his girlfriend left him days before their wedding. He’s been forced by his boss to get a company phone just as he’s set to work on a project with the iconic singer Céline Dion. When he receives Mira’s texts, he fails to mention she’s got the wrong number and starts catching feelings.
Yes. It’s based on Sofie Cramer’s 2009 novel, Text for You, which was made into the German movie SMS für Dich in 2016.
