Everybody wanted this: On Sunday, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, award-winning actor and producer Kristen Bell (Nobody Wants This, The Good Place) hosted the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Taking the stage in a pristine white suit, Bell welcomed the crowd and gave a few earnest opening remarks about the significance of the awards, and made sure the crowd at the Shrine Auditorium gave a proper round of applause to the members of the Los Angeles Fire Department in attendance.

Then, the host did the only thing an awards show host can do to transition from a heartfelt monologue into the ceremony: She broke out into song.

"Do you want to be an actor?" Bell sang as a video montage of some of the nominees in their earliest roles played on screens. “It can be a bumpy ride,” she sang. “Sometimes there's no stability. Put aside your pride. But everybody started somewhere as we do.”

Bell currently stars in Nobody Wants This alongside Adam Brody, a comedy series centering on the unlikely relationship between an outspoken, agnostic woman, Joanne (Bell), and an unconventional rabbi, Noah (Brody). Bell is set to reprise her role as Joanne in Season 2 of Nobody Wants This. Other recent acting credits include leading roles in the Amazon Prime comedy film The People We Hate at the Wedding, alongside Allison Janney and Ben Platt, and Netflix’s parody comedy The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window.

The show also honored legendary actor and activist Jane Fonda, who will be presented with SAG-AFTRA’s highest tribute: the SAG Life Achievement Award. Silent House Productions will return to produce the ceremony.
