Keep Breathing follows Liv Rivera, a no-nonsense New York City lawyer whose plane crashes on its way through northern Canada. Left in the desolate wilderness with only the clothes on her back, Liv must look deep within herself — and her past — to find the strength to survive. 

In the HeightsVida and Scream (2022) actor Melissa Barrera stars in this slow-burn series as a workaholic securities litigator who fears getting too close to anyone after her troubled childhood.

The release date

Keep Breathing premieres July 28. 

The plot

Liv wants to escape the city (and her life) while battling a series of monumental changes. When she hitches a ride with photographer Sam and pilot George on a small plane to Inuvik in northern Canada, they crash in the middle of nowhere. Fending off threats of the wild while being haunted by personal demons, Liv tries to stay alive and make peace with who she’s become.

The setting

While it’s unclear (especially to Liv) exactly where the plane crashes, Keep Breathing takes place in the remote wilderness of Canada’s Northern Territories. Liv’s flashbacks and memories are set in New York City.
