John Cena just shattered another in-ring milestone: Ahead of the WWE Superstar’s final Monday Night Raw appearance on Nov. 17 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the 17-time WWE World Champion became a Grand Slam Champion after winning the Intercontinental Championship on the Nov. 10 edition of Raw. The Grand Slam title — which requires a wrestler to rack up crowns for WWE Champion, Intercontinental Champion, United States Champion, and Tag Team Champion — is held by a precious few Superstars. It’s such an achievement that Governor Maura Healey of his home state of Massachusetts declared Nov. 10 John Cena Day.
As the former Doctor of Thuganomics and the Guinness World Record holder for the most Make-A-Wish wishes granted, Cena is no slouch in or out of the ring. Not only is he one of WWE’s most accomplished figures, he’s also a bonafide movie star. Cena first broke onto the big screen in The Marine (2006) and has since gone on to star in comedies like Sisters (2015), in action flicks like Bumblebee (2018), and as Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel)’s long-lost brother, Jakob, in the Fast & Furious franchise.
