There’s something about an enemies-to-lovers romance — it’s just more exciting when potential partners are separated by circumstances, misunderstandings, family expectations, or even a heated rivalry. Who doesn’t want to watch two people you know are destined for each other fight tooth-and-nail against it? When they finally collide, sparks fly, and the love feels that much more earned.
The characters in these series and movies on Netflix embody every edge-of-your-seat kind of will they, won’t they love: rival dancers forced to learn from each other; housewives from different worlds who, despite the potential scandal, are obsessed; decades-old vampires who can’t quit their relationship; and more.

Two dancers — ballroom expert Shinya Sugiki (Keita Machida) and Latin master Shinya Suzuki (Ryoma Takeuchi) — collaborate to learn each other’s styles for a prestigious competition. But when old rivalries resurface and a potential romance complicates their already tenuous partnership, can this duo find their rhythm and become champions? Keishi Otomo (Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning) directs this enemies-to-lovers romance, which also stars Shiori Doi (Chosen Home) and Anna Ishii (Pararescue Jumper).

This mystery-thriller series directed by Jade Bunyoprakarn (Bad Romance) stars Natachai Boonprasert (The Heart Killers) and Archen Aydin (Hidden Agenda) as Inspector Khamin and Captain Jade, police officers forced to put their budding rivalry on hold and team up to solve a mystery. When a college student (Pathitta Pornchumroenrut) dies at a party, Khamin and Jade are put on the case. They clash over their methods and personalities — but they also can’t seem to stay away from each other, even outside of work.

Created by Victoria Schwab (author of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue) and based on her short story, this supernatural drama series follows 16-year-old Juliette Fairmont (Sarah Catherine Hook), a vampire who has to make her first kill to enter adulthood. She struggles with her matriarchal family’s expectations and her true nature, but she becomes hopeful when she falls for Calliope Burns (Imani Lewis) — who comes from a family of monster hunters and has also been tasked with making her first kill. Will their new romance last, or will their families’ generational rivalry prove too strong? Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost) and Aubin Wise (Harlan Coben’s Shelter) also star.

When Sophie O’Neil (Brittany Snow) moves with her husband (Evan Jonigkeit) and young son from the East Coast to fictional Maple Brook, Texas, she meets socialite Margo Banks (Malin Akerman), who heads up the titular clique of local women. At first, Sophie’s happy to have some new friends, even if she thinks she has nothing in common with them. But as she and Margo grow closer, jealousies arise, and Sophie is soon drawn into a tangled web of obsession, lust, and murder. Katie Lowes (Inventing Anna), George Ferrier (Juniper), Dermot Mulroney (The Wedding Date), Jaime Ray Newman (Eastwick), and Chrissy Metz (This Is Us) co-star.

Created by Carlos Montero (Breathless) and Darío Madrona (In Family I Trust), this eight-season drama follows a group of students at the fictional Las Encinas, a high school that caters to the young, privileged members of wealthy families. The first season follows three working-class students — Samuel (Itzan Escamilla), Nadia (Mina El Hammani), and Christian (Miguel Herrán) — who receive scholarships after a deadly accident and become ensconced in this elite world. But they soon discover that money and power come with (potentially fatal) consequences, especially when your heart is on the line.

Author Anne Rice’s world comes to life in this series based on her Vampire Chronicles. It’s the tale of two vampires — Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) and Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) — who are either passionate lovers, bitter enemies, or something in between. The show unfolds through conversations between Louis and journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian), who interviewed him in 1973 and now gets a do-over 49 years later. As Louis tells it, in 1910, he was a 33-year-old man living in New Orleans who was seduced and turned by the vampire Lestat. But should Daniel (and the audience) believe him? Assad Zaman (Hotel Portofino), Bailey Bass (Avatar: Fire and Ash), and Delainey Hayles (Too Close) co-star.
