🤐 SPOILER ALERT 🤐
Season 2 of Heartstopper is filled with couples navigating newly discovered, rapidly developing love. Whether it’s Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie (Joe Locke) adjusting to life in a brand-new relationship (now with an official “boyfriends” label) or Tao (William Gao) and Elle (Yasmin Finney) recognizing their feelings for each other, there’s a whole lot of exploration happening. Romantic journeys aren’t the only big ventures — there’s also quite literally traveling happening when some of Truham’s students and faculty take a trip to Paris, allowing the heartfelt series to film in a variety of places across the UK and beyond.
Let’s take a look at some of the locations you’re seeing throughout the show’s latest installment.

The Berkshire town of Slough set the stage for countless scenes. Any time you’re watching events unfold at Truham, both on campus and right outside of it, they’re taking place in Slough. The same goes for park scenes, such as the one in Episode 2, when Charlie, Nick, and Nellie sprawl out on a blanket, a noteworthy occasion that ends with Nick posting a photo of Charlie and his beloved pup on Instagram, making things extra official. In the following episode, a post-exam bonfire party that draws a large gathering of students, was also filmed in Slough.

In Episode 7, Elle gets an opportunity to display her art at the Lambert School’s “Here and Queer” exhibition. The whole gang attends to show support and a lot plays out on the campus, from Isaac considering his sexuality at the exhibit to Ben apologizing to Charlie for previous wrongdoings. These scenes were shot in Farnham, Surrey.

“So iconic.” Those two words are how Kit Connor described the Parisian story arc in Season 2 when Tudum visited the Heartstopper set in November 2022.
While Heartstopper primarily filmed in the UK, the cast and crew did spend several days on location in France’s capital as they adapted a section of creator and executive producer Alice Oseman’s graphic novels. “When I originally created the comic, I chose Paris because it was a believable school trip location — easily travelable from the UK and lots of cultural landmarks,” Oseman told Netflix in June. “Thematically it marks a step outside of the cozy, relatable world of Truham that we have come to know in Season 1. As the characters are growing up little by little, they are thrust into a big new world. Away from home and the prying eyes of parents, they’re getting a first little taste of adulthood. And with that comes new experiences and a lot of drama.”
The time spent shooting in Paris was busy yet beautiful, according to the cast. Locke told Tudum it was “the best week ever” even with the tiring late nights and early mornings. “We had incredible days on set,” said Locke in November. “Paris is such an important part of the story. It’s when Nick and Charlie come out as a couple. All of the other characters have very integral moments in Paris too because obviously, it’s the City of Love. It’s a great part of the season.”
You can definitely spot several well-known Parisian landmarks in Season 2; however, not every scene that was set in France was actually shot there. Some moments, such as when Nick takes Charlie to a cafe after he faints in Episode 5, were filmed near Piccadilly Circus in the City of Westminster in London.
