The action-fantasy film stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones), Brenton Thwaites (Titans), and Gerard Butler (300) as the villain. Elodie Yung (Daredevil), Courtney Eaton (Yellowjackets), and Geoffrey Rush (Pirates of the Caribbean) also star. Gods of Egypt is directed by Alex Proyas (The Crow; I, Robot).

As the sun rises once more on ancient Egypt, the young god Horus (Coster-Waldau) prepares for his coronation. But before his father, Osiris (Brown), can crown Horus King of Egypt, they’re interrupted by Horus’s uncle Set who is determined to take the throne he believes should have always been his. Wounded and cast out into the desert, Horus’s only hope of becoming powerful enough to defeat Set and reclaim his kingdom rests in the hands of one very mortal thief. But Bek (Thwaites) could not care less about the gods; all he wants is to make life sweet for his true love, Zaya (Eaton). Only when she pleads with him to help Horus does Bek find himself reluctantly allying with the deposed king. A boon — happy wife, happy life — is all Bek asks for in return.
Horus and Bek strike a bargain that leads them on a tumultuous journey filled with Set’s sinister, shape-shifting armies; the demons that haunt the path to the afterlife; and a flight through the cosmos and the waters of creation. The mythology of Egypt comes to life in this unexpected adventure of two unlikely friends — can a hesitant mortal and wounded god save the world from chaos and the collapse of the universe?
