‘God’s Favorite Idiot’ Is Here to Save the World

Ben Falcone and Melissa McCarthy star in the new sitcom.

    May 6, 2022

Some people are just so warm and engaging that it seems like they glow from within. Other people, like mid-level tech support employee Clark Thompson (Ben Falcone) in the upcoming comedy God’s Favorite Idiot, quite literally glow. After a mysterious incident causes Clark to glow — not sparkle, like a Twilight vampire, or metaphorically glow, like a celebrity with a really talented aesthetician — he begins to realize that perhaps God has bigger plans for him.

There’s plenty in popular culture about chosen ones. But what if the person chosen to save the world isn’t actually in possession of some special skills or superior emotional intelligence and is, in fact, just some dude? Find out in the eight-episode season when it drops on June 15.

Key Art - ‘God’s Favorite Idiot’ Is Here to Save the World

Part workplace comedy, part world-saving quest, the series follows Clark as he gathers his flock of mismatched co-workers, his longtime work crush Amily (Melissa McCarthy) and some angelic allies to try to outwit Satan herself (Leslie Bibb). Although they might not seem like the likeliest of teams, they band together for the greater good because saving the world is a team effort. Check out the trailer for the new series, and scroll down for the first look at key art and photos.
