On My Block welcomed fans to the wacky and wild world of Freeridge, a neighborhood where you were just as likely to find a treasure map as an ominous pack of eerie garden gnomes. When the aptly named spin-off Freeridge premieres Feb. 2, viewers can return to the block, now populated by a new cast of problem-solving teens.
Gloria (Keyla Monterroso Mejia), Ines (Bryana Salaz), Demi (Ciara Riley Wilson) and Cam (Tenzing Norgay Trainor) are your new Core Four, bound to fall into a mind-bending mystery — and, perhaps, a little puppy love — as they happen upon a box that may just be cursed. Keep reading to meet your new Freeridge friends, and to get the lowdown on which On My Block favorites you can expect to see again.

Sitcom fans may recognize Monterroso Mejia from two unforgettable supporting roles: wannabe-actor Maria Sofia in Curb Your Enthusiasm and zany teacher’s assistant Ashley in Abbott Elementary. With Freeridge, she steps into the spotlight as protagonist Gloria, whom Monterroso Mejia describes as “unapologetically herself” and a “go-getter.” The de facto leader of the Freeridge crew, Gloria is smart, determined, mature and an absolute ace on the double arm hang in gym class.
“I’m really excited for viewers to see a strong, badass girl who just has their shit together,” Monterroso Mejia tells Tudum. Gloria’s only true obstacle? A fiery temper that can just as easily help her achieve her goals as it can get her into trouble.

If Gloria is the pragmatic one in the Freeridge quartet, her little sister Ines is the chaos agent of the group. Not only does Ines not follow the rules, she doesn’t even know they exist (and is happy to maintain that blissful ignorance). Salaz says Ines can come off a little “standoffish” or “guarded.” But, the actor teases, “when the layers start getting peeled back, you’ll understand why she is that way.”
Salaz first attracted attention as a 2014 contestant on The Voice. Since then, she’s starred in series like Malibu Rescue and Team Kaylie.

Wilson has nearly a decade of successful projects under her belt. She had a significant role in the 2019 Kim Possible live action movie and appeared in two Joshua Bassett music videos.
In Freeridge, Wilson plays Demi, the most optimistic and spiritual member of the Core Four. “It was really fun to dive into all of her interests in the world of spirituality, crystals, tarot cards and astrology,” Wilson tells Tudum.
Clearly, Demi always has a mystical answer for any problem. So, when a possible curse comes knocking for the group, it’s Demi whose expertise may just save them. That is, if she can manage her tender feelings.

Trainor is another Freeridge star who has been popping up across Hollywood for years. While he has appeared in multiple Disney Channel titles, it’s on Liv and Maddie that he caught the most eyeballs; Trainor played little brother Parker Rooney in the family sitcom. He also appeared in Boo, Bitch.
In Freeridge, Trainor breaks the mold as the Core Four’s sole boy –– constant over-analyzer Cam. “I’m excited for people to see that it’s okay to not have everything figured out and to not know everything, but to also stick up for yourself and be strong,” Trainor says.

🤐 SPOILER ALERT 🤐

Blow stole hearts on On My Block as Marisol “Abuelita” Martinez, a grandma who was far more interested in smoking a joint and getting into hijinks than knitting. She returns to the world of “gnomies” and mysteries in Freeridge as a surprise new character.
“The character that Peggy portrays in Freeridge was her own original idea that she threw out on a whim and we wholeheartedly embraced,” co-creator Lauren Iungerich told Tudum ahead of Freeridge’s premiere. Now we know Blow is portraying Mariluna, Abuelita’s enigmatic and wealthy twin sister with a penchant for old-school luxury cars. Monterroso Mejia was stunned to see Blow bring her vision of Mariluna to life.
“When you see her pull up in the Bentley… she’s not Abuelita no more,” Monterroso Mejia tells Tudum.
Before posting up in the fictional town of Freeridge, Blow enjoyed a decades-long career, appearing in classic sitcoms like The Jeffersons, Seinfeld and 227, as well as Emmy-nominated dramas including The Affair and American Crime Story.

Solomon first broke out in Boo, Bitch as Jake M. (not to be confused with Jake C. or W.). Now he’s Freeridge’s one and only Rusty, the Core Four’s new classmate. While Rusty initially comes into contact with the group for purely professional reasons, he eventually ends up building a flirty relationship with both Gloria and Ines.
Wilson teases a big surprise about Rusty, calling it “big old gasp”-worthy.

Adams was a standout member of the young Senior Year cast, playing the teen version of Sam Richardson’s lovestruck Seth Novacelik. Adams deepens his romantic streak in Freeridge as Andre, Cameron’s, well, hopelessly devoted beau.

On a series where everyone has questions, Cinnamon (Alix) offers (extremely complicated and veiled) answers. She’s Freeridge’s resident TikTok witch and drops into the Core Four’s lives with premonitions to spare — whether they want them or not.
Although Alix is a new entry in the On My Block universe, she has worked with at least one of her co-stars before. Alix played popular girl Lea in Boo, Bitch, who just so happened to be the love interest of Solomon’s Jake M.

When On My Block’s Core Four needed some guidance, they turned to Cesar’s (Diego Tinoco) older brother Oscar (Julio Macias). Although Oscar could be terrifying — he didn’t get the nickname Spooky for nothing — he also had a lot of heart. The Freeridge gang gets a much sillier sage in the entrepreneurial-minded Tonio, played by Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion superhero J.R. Villarreal. Tonio is Gloria and Ines’ uncle.

Every teen romp needs a parent, if only to hide all the shenanigans from. San Pedro supplies the stakes as Javier, Gloria and Ines’ widower dad. The actor has appeared in network procedurals including Rosewood and NCIS.

Besides Blow — who is playing a new character — Garcés is one of four On My Block actors to return as the same characters in Freeridge, and also directs Episode 6. Garcés will be familiar to viewers as Geny, Ruby’s (Jason Genao) understandably concerned mom. She previously acted in the soap All My Children, the crime drama The Shield and in multiple Harold & Kumar films.

Geny can’t be the only Martinez family member having some Freeridge fun. Naturally, her husband is joining her. Boo, Bitch co-producer Gutierrez pops back up in the spin-off as Martinez patriarch Ruben, who is now grieving the loss of his mom Marisol.
Ruben is shocked and disturbed to learn that a woman who looks just like his mom is running around Freeridge. After seeing this mystery twin around town, he and Geny join the Core Four in trying to untangle her identity.

Ikwuakor always brought the funny in On My Block as the loving, stern dad to his eccentric son Jamal (Brett Gray). Expect to see more of his comedic chops in Freeridge, in which he once again portrays BBQ shop owner Dwayne. Ikwuakor also had a supporting role in the action flick The Gray Man.

Simmons is the final On My Block parent to step into Freeridge as Fran, Jamal’s mom –– a woman with high expectations. Simmons has appeared in various crime procedurals, including FBI: Most Wanted and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
