Whether you’re looking to unwind in between the festivities or escape the many “Red, wine and blue” Instagram captions on your feed, our list of summer streams will help you enjoy the holiday celebrations from the comfort of your home — and air conditioning. We’ve rounded up ten movies and shows to watch if you’re wishing you were on a scenic beach, road tripping with your besties or eating some backyard barbecue.

Family Reunion

It’s not a cookout without some laughs, fights and misadventures with the whole family. In this sitcom starring Tia Mowry, Loretta Devine and Anthony Alabi, the McKellans move from Seattle to small-town Georgia to live with their grandparents. As generations and cultures clash, the young family members learn to reconnect with their Southern roots through their grandparents’ many stories, while also creating new family traditions along the way.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Life’s a beach when your ex shows up at the same resort as you. Peter (Jason Segel) and Sarah (Kristen Bell) seem like the perfect couple — he’s a composer and she’s a television actress. After Sarah unexpectedly dumps him, Peter heads to Hawaii to unwind and heal from heartbreak. Unbeknownst to him, Sarah is also vacationing at the same resort with her new man. This could either end in another heartbreak or make for a really good New York Times “Modern Love” story.

Fresh, Fried & Crispy

You might want to add deep-fried chicken pot pie or toasted ravioli to your Fourth of July picnic menu. Food critic Daym Drops, best known for his viral food reaction videos on YouTube, hits the road to find America’s smokin’ hotspots for all things fried. During his stops, Daym showcases how different local chefs get creative and elevate culinary favorites with a little batter and oil.

Ibiza: Love Drunk

Most people travel to Ibiza for the party of a lifetime, while others go to find the love of their lives. When Harper (Gillian Jacobs) is sent to mainland Spain for a work trip, with her best friends Nikki (Vanessa Bayer) and Leah (Phoebe Robinson) tagging along, she meets world-famous DJ, Leo West (Richard Madden,) at a nightclub. There’s an instant connection, but, before they can hang out, Leo heads to Ibiza for a gig. After Leah’s boss informs her that her work meeting has been rescheduled, she spontaneously travels to the party island to track down the man of her dreams.

Outer Banks

Living in a coastal town on the Outer Banks of North Carolina isn’t as idyllic as it may seem — on this show anyway. The island is socially divided into haves and have-nots, or what the locals call the “Kooks” and “Pogues.” The series follows a group of Pogues who are determined to find out what happened to their friend’s missing father. While doing so, they stumble upon a treasure map that leads them to a long-buried secret.

Barbecue Showdown

Being the grill master at the function isn’t an easy task. There’s pressure to cook the perfect burger and deliver the food on time, all while melting under the sweltering sun. In this friendly showdown, eight of the country’s best backyard smokers and pitmasters face off to win the coveted title of American Barbecue Champion. From pork ribs to pulled alligator, they get saucy with their dishes to try and knock out the competition.

The Last Summer

Before leaving for college, a group of Chicago high school graduates promise to make the most of their last summer together. Starring K.J. Apa, Maia Mitchell and Tyler Posey, the romantic film explores how the teens grapple with their dreams, identities and relationships with each other. Sometimes saying goodbye isn’t as simple as writing “H.A.G.S” in a yearbook.

The Sweetest Thing

Popstar Vanessa Carlton once sang about the merits of traveling a thousand miles just to see your crush, but is it such a great idea? Hopeless romantic Christina (Cameron Diaz) seems to think so. When she meets Peter (Thomas Jane) at a nightclub, Christina's convinced he’s her soulmate. Any other early ’00s woman might, say, post a Craigslist missed connections ad and call it a day — but not Christina. With the help of her girlfriends (Christina Applegate and Selma Blair), Christina hits the road to stalk the one that got away.

Under the Riccione Sun

Every summer, a group of young Italian twentysomethings reunite for a vacation under the Italian sun. There’s Ciro (Cristiano Caccamo), who works as a lifeguard after failing a singing competition show. Marco (Saul Nanni), who’s been crushing on his friend Guenda (Fotinì Peluso) for years, and this summer is bent on finally winning her heart. And Vincenzo (Lorenzo Zurzolo), who’s blind and is just looking for a desperate escape from his overprotective mother. Together, the friends meet other characters on the beach, take some of their friendships to the next level and learn how to navigate heartbreak.
