Calling all BookTok fans, it’s time to get the gworls together for a glass of wine and the entire Fifty Shades trilogy: Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker, and Fifty Shades Freed. Adapted from a novel series of the same name written by E.L. James — which itself was inspired by the Twilight films — the Fifty Shades flicks focus on the steamy, dark romance between a normie college girl and a wealthy business tycoon who introduces her to the wicked side of love. The romance movies star Dakota Johnson (Persuasion) and Jamie Dornan (The Tourist) as the tumultuous couple. Keep reading for more info on the movies.

Fifty Shades of Grey

When Anastasia Steele (Johnson), a shy, inexperienced college student, interviews the mysterious billionaire Christian Grey (Dornan) for her school paper, the last thing she expects is to catch Christian’s eye. As the two find themselves inexplicably drawn to each other, Christian shows Anastasia a whole new erotic world where pleasure and pain are intertwined. Can love bloom from lust? The OG Fifty Shades movie is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson (Back to Black) and also stars Luke Grimes (Marshals), Rita Ora (Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight), Jennifer Ehle (Zero Dark Thirty), and Marcia Gay Harden (Moxie).

Fifty Shades Darker

Anastasia Steele is no longer the naive, innocent girl that Christian Grey once knew, but that doesn’t stop him from wanting her. As Ana navigates the professional politics of the publishing world, Christian tries to entice her back into his life, going so far as to renegotiate their erotic contract to suit her demands. But as the two slowly learn to trust each other again, nefarious people and a jilted lover from Christian’s past threaten to destroy their fragile future. Directed by James Foley (House of Cards), the sequel also stars Kim Basinger (Never Say Never Again) and Hugh Dancy (Downton Abbey: A New Era).

Fifty Shades Freed

After realizing they were truly meant for each other and finally tying the knot, the new Mr. and Mrs. Grey settle into their married — but still intensely passionate — life. But before Ana and Christian can begin to enjoy this new, blissful chapter, her personal and professional life collide in a way that exposes the cracks in their happily ever after. Meanwhile, an older woman from Christian’s past comes knocking. Foley returns as director. Fifty Shades Freed also stars Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf) and Eloise Mumford (Lone Star).
