A few years ago, Moz (Alabi) and Cocoa (Mowry) McKellan moved from Seattle to Columbus, Georgia, to raise their children and have been staying with Moz’s parents, M’Dear (Devine) and Jeb (Roundtree).
Part 5 begins with the birth of Moz and Cocoa’s fifth child, Skye, as their oldest, Jade (Jackson) prepares for college. Their other children are growing up fast: Shaka is off at a prestigious boarding school in Massachusetts, while Mazzi (Wright) and Ami (James) are still at home keeping Moz and Cocoa on their toes.
Sleep-deprived and losing steam, Cocoa and Moz try to spice up their marriage, while at the same time, helping Cocoa’s sister, who’s raising her son, Tyson (Wardlaw), on her own. Meanwhile, Jeb faces a major decision about his health. M’Dear continues to reign over all, reminding her family to have faith in God and, when in doubt, follow her example. Part 5 culminates with the McKellans coming together to confront a long-standing injustice.
Family Reunion Part 5 is set in Columbus, Georgia.
