What happens in Driven?

Rylee Thomas (Applegate) is in the middle of a panic attack when she meets the handsome Colton Donavan (Deidrick). When he frees her from the supply closet she was accidentally trapped in, the shock renders her speechless, and Colton, unable to help himself, kisses her. The instant chemistry between the two strangers is undeniable, but Rylee stops herself before they can go too far. After all, she’s at work. Rylee, who manages a charity that benefits orphaned boys, is helping to run her company’s fundraising event, and Colton, who she soon learns is a famous and highly skilled race car driver with a wild reputation, is one of the wealthy attendees. When Colton spends $25,000 to win a date with Rylee at the charity auction, she claims she’ll have no issue resisting his charms. But after their date goes exceedingly well, the two can’t seem to stay away from each other.

Colton insists that they can’t get emotionally involved — he doesn’t trust himself to not hurt her. But he also can’t help but worm his way into Rylee’s life: He offers to partner with her beloved charity and invites the orphaned boys to the racetrack as his personal guests. Much to Rylee’s confusion, he says he doesn’t want kids, but she observes him connecting with even the most closed-off of the boys, Zander (Ganiere). When she pushes him on the subject, Colton shares some rare personal insight: He doesn’t want to screw a kid up like his parents did him. Every crumb of hard-won information draws Rylee in more. But Rylee is battling her own demons, and can’t shake her memories of a tragic car accident two years ago that changed her life forever.

After several steamy encounters, Colton offers Rylee the kind of arrangement he’s comfortable with: Any relationship between them will be purely physical, with plenty of opportunities for spicy exploration in the bedroom. Rylee’s best friend, Haddie (Dalton), encourages her to have some no-strings-attached fun. But how long can either of them hold out before their irresistible chemistry takes control of the wheel?
