There’s nothing scarier than a teenage girl — especially the two at the center of the upcoming dark comedy Do Revenge, starring Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke. The Strangers on a Train–esque thriller follows what happens after a clandestine meet-cute between fallen it-girl Drea (Mendes) and beta, new alt-girl Eleanor (Hawke). Together, the two girls go after each other’s tormentors. And now we have a new trailer to see it all in action.

Do Revenge Main Trailer

As you learn in the trailer, Drea is living a picture-perfect life until an intimate video leaks to her whole school, seemingly the work of her big-man-on-campus boyfriend, Max (Austin Abrams). When she meets new girl Eleanor, who has harbored a grudge against her summer camp bully Carissa (Ava Capri), the duo decide to join forces to take down people who have wronged them. Eleanor wants Carissa to “burn to the ground,” and Drea wants the school to know Max is a “fake-woke, misogynist hypocrite.” The newfound allies also debate the grammatical merits of the phrase “do revenge,” which does have some sentence structure issues. Check out the teaser clip below, and you’ll get why.

In addition to the trailer, the first batch of photos from the film includes images of Drea and Eleanor teaming up and a few shots of their menacing high school peers. Do Revenge also stars Dash & Lily’s Abrams, 13 Reasons Why’s Alisha Boe, Rish Shah, Talia Ryder, Jonathan Daviss, Maia Reficco, Paris Berelc and Sophie Turner.

Helmed by Someone Great writer/director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and written by Robinson and her collaborator, Celeste Ballard, the Hitchcockian comedy comes out Sept. 16. Anyone who saw Someone Great knows how essential Lizzo was to the movie, with her featured song “Truth Hurts” hitting No. 1. And Robinson put together another sure-to-be killer soundtrack for Do Revenge with the help of Gossip Girl music supervisor Rob Lowry and a score from eldest Haim sister, Este Haim, with composer Amanda Yamate.
