When a murdered police officer’s remains are found, the discovery quickly arouses the public’s interest — revealing a network of toxic relationships, deceit, violence, and sexual exploits involving the victim and two fellow officers, one of whom is the deceased’s wife, the other his wife’s lover. A tale of a love triangle gone wrong, the story follows the violent and heated relationships of the murder victim and his potential killers. Directed by Feroz Award nominee Jorge Torregrossa (Intimacy, La Vida Inesperada), Burning Body is based on a true story and stars Feroz nominee Úrsula Corberó, Feroz and Gaudí nominee Quim Gutiérrez, and Feroz and Goya Award winner Eva Llorach.

What happens in Burning Body?

Rosa’s husband, Pedro, hasn’t returned home. The two are police officers for the Barcelona Urban Guard, and it seems Pedro doesn’t have the best track record of staying put. Rosa’s father assumes Pedro might have skipped out on their relationship — it’s been a bit rocky, and she’s involved in a nasty custody dispute with her ex, Javi, over their young daughter, Sofía. But then a charred car is found in Barcelona’s Foix reservoir — with Pedro’s remains inside. Soon Rosa and her lover, fellow police officer Alberto López, become integral to the case in ways they never expect. What unfolds is a murder mystery that’s laden with illicit affairs, dangerous relationships, and fatal consequences.

Both were Rodríguez’s fellow officers.
