Melissa Fumero and Randall Park are clocking in for their shifts at Blockbuster in this first photo from the set of the upcoming sitcom, revealed during the first-ever Netflix Is a Joke comedy festival.
The series is an ensemble comedy starring the two sitcom veterans as staff members at the last Blockbuster Video in America. Blockbuster examines what it takes for a (now) small business to succeed against all odds. Park plays boss and movie-lover Timmy, while Fumero is Eliza, his No. 2 in command. She left Harvard after one semester to start a family, but now things are on the rocks with her high school sweetheart.
The rest of the cast includes American Vandal’s Tyler Alvarez as aspiring filmmaker Carlos, Madeleine Arthur as naive but financially savvy Hannah, Olga Merediz as unofficial mother figure Connie, the great JB Smoove as strip mall and party store owner Percy (also Timmy’s best friend) and Kamaia Fairburn as Percy’s smart and sometimes scary teen daughter who works at the Blockbuster with Timmy.
Created by writer and executive producer Vanessa Ramos, the 10-episode single-camera comedy is also executive produced and written by David Caspe and Jackie Clarke.
