    “We’ve lost control.”

“I love you!” declares Adam Sandler not once, but eight times in the trailer for his new Netflix stand-up special, Adam Sandler: Love You. “Yeah, alright, so anyways, I talk a lot, and then I sing, and then we do a bunch of shit,” Sandler says to the melodic sounds of a guitar strumming behind him — which we later find out he’s playing himself.

Following his 2018 special 100% Fresh, Sandler returns to the stage — replete with zip-up hoodie over Hawaiian button-down — for his second Netflix special. And it’s a reunion, too: Uncut Gems co-director Josh Safdie makes his comedy special directorial debut. “We’ve lost control,” Sandler declares in the trailer, making a gesture to smash an electric guitar as a robust but unexplained dog runs across the stage. “What the fuck is happening?”

Sandler has been no stranger to Netflix over the last few years, making people laugh — and cry — with projects of all genres, including the sci-fi drama Spaceman, animated musical comedy Leo, and coming-of-age teen comedy You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah. He played an NBA scout in Hustle and starred in Murder Mystery and Murder Mystery 2, as well as Hubie Halloween, to name a few

The upcoming special, Love You, is a Happy Madison production of Central Picture, produced by Sandler, Safdie, Ronald Bronstein, Eli Bush, Dan Bulla, Carter Hambley, Brian Robinson, Joseph Vecsey, Judit Maull, Eli Thomas, and Perry Sachs. It’s  executive produced by Barry Bernardi, Robert Digby, and John Irwin.

Love You will make its global premiere on Aug. 27 — but you can watch Sandler’s other projects while you wait
