Down-on-his-luck tax accountant Kurisu is hired to move to Hokkaido and investigate a temp company founder's favored horse racing division.

Kozo tasks Kurisu, now private secretary of the horse racing division, with finding a new trainer. Kanako mentions a talented one named Hironaka.

Takeshi's brusque approach to sales tactics causes headaches for Kanako. Meanwhile, Kurisu and the others begin searching for a new racehorse.

As Kurisu and Hironaka struggle with Royal Hope’s basic training, they turn to troublemaker jockey Saki. Yutaro deals with a scandal at Royal Human.

Kurisu offers to support the mother of Kozo's secret son, Koichi, who is enchanted by the world of racehorses. Royal Hope runs in the Japan Derby.

Kozo surprises Kurisu by saying he and Hope will retire. After Kozo makes another revelation, Kurisu goes to meet with Koichi. The Arima Kinen begins.

Koichi meets with Kozo, but their encounter soon devolves into a quarrel. Later, Koichi shares his concerns with Kozo and makes a surprising proposal.

Kurisu senses a growing rift between Koichi and the Royal team. Koichi feels drawn to the forward-thinking ideas of his peer Nobuyuki Shiina.

New jockey Shohei runs into trouble during an autumn G1 race. As various problems arise, Kurisu and Koichi strive to keep the team's dreams alive.

At a kick-off party, Koichi voices his unwavering resolve. After countless setbacks for Kurisu's dream of G1 victory, the gates of destiny open.
