After 10 years abroad, surgeon Kazuaki Okita returns to Danjo Memorial Hospital to perform heart surgery on the hospital's director, Toranosuke.

Igawa confidently reassures a VIP patient there will be no aftereffects from his surgery. Okita searches for the best method to operate on Mifuyu.

When a girl with stomach pain comes to Danjo Memorial, Mifuyu and Okita decide she needs surgery, but the girl's original pediatrician is displeased.

As Masao plans to partner with another hospital, Okita is asked to perform a surgery and teams up with Shibata, whose actions later cause a problem.

Masao and Okita are frustrated by their inability to find a solution for Mifuyu's worsening condition. Hamura finds himself investigating his mentor.

A man who is rushed to the hospital turns out to be Sakakibara's father. The doctors recommend surgery, but she refuses to give consent.

Mifuyu suggests a risky procedure for her tumor to Okita. Okita thinks a teen girl may have breast cancer, but another doctor denies the possibility.

Okita prepares for Mifuyu's surgery. When Okita’s father Isshin has a heart attack, Hamura offers to operate, but Isshin insists that his son do it.

After Mifuyu's surgery is postponed, Masao agrees to operate on a government minister and says he will operate on Mifuyu himself if it’s a success.

Denounced by Toranosuke and the others, Masao leaves the hospital and disappears. Okita continues preparing for Mifuyu's operation without him.
