UZUMAKI: Animated TV Series

Convinced that spirals are contaminating the town of Kurouzu and the minds of its residents, Shuichi urges his girlfriend Kirie to run away with him.

The bulging spiral pattern on Katayama's back portends a gruesome transformation. Later, Kirie's hair grows and curls, taking on a life of its own.

Kirie wakes up in the hospital, where patients are somehow being drained of blood. At night, she sees a group of pregnant women walking the halls.

The survivors of the spiral curse — which has ravaged Kurouzu beyond recognition — hide out in row houses as thugs harass them with tornados.
