Denji’s been working as a devil hunter since he was a child. But one day, his yakuza boss decides he’s worth more to him dead than alive.

Denji is disappointed when Makima partners him up with Aki Hayakawa, a Public Safety Devil Hunter with a deep hatred of devils.

Denji and Power just can’t seem to get along. But despite their constant bickering, Power manages to convince Denji to help get her abducted cat back.

Power asks Denji why he still helped her, despite everything she’d done — but then, before he can claim his reward, he’s suddenly attacked.

Makima asks Denji to eradicate the Gun Devil, an entity that killed over a million people before disappearing. But first, they’ll have to find them.

Trapped on the hotel's eighth floor by a demonic power, Aki and his team encounter a devil that offers them a way out in exchange for Denji's life.

While Denji battles the Eternity Devil, his power wanes as he loses blood, but he finds a way to recover. The grim scene reminds Himeno of the past.

Just as Denji is about to give in to Himeno's seduction, she finds something in his pocket: a lollipop that Makima gave him earlier that evening.

Revved back into consciousness, Denji takes on the deadly katana-wielding combatant but is soon sliced in half. Makima’s attackers meet a grisly fate.

Aki awakes in a hospital and grieves the loss of his partner. Hoping to strengthen Division 4, Makima introduces Denji and Power to their new trainer.
