Martin Henderson: "Martin, can you twerk?"
[laughs]
Martin Henderson: No, I can't. But, uh, Alex can. Go, Alex.
Alexandra Breckenridge: That's right. I can. But I'm not gonna do it for you today. He can do it.
Martin Henderson: Hi, everybody. I'm Martin Henderson. I play Jack Sheridan on Virgin River. And this is the beautiful…
Alexandra Breckenridge: Alexandra Breckenridge, playing Mel Monroe on Virgin River.
[both gasp]
Martin Henderson: We got some exciting answers for your exciting questions out there in fan land.
[gentle music playing]
Alexandra Breckenridge: This is from @Eleanor.Houck.
Martin Henderson: Hi, Eleanor Houck.
Alexandra Breckenridge: "Has Martin's accent ever slipped into his lines?"
Martin Henderson: [in New Zealand accent] Yes.
Alexandra Breckenridge: It does. Not that much.
Martin Henderson: A little bit though. Every now and again, I'll be doing a scene, and her eyes will just go …
Kandyse McClure: “What has been your favorite thing about being back on set this season?” Well, obviously, it's the wedding. [laughs]
Annette O’Toole: We are so lucky that we have most of the same crew every year. And it's really fun to see those people again. We've become such good friends. We know about their families.
Richard Keith: I know it's a cliché, but on the show, everybody gets along. It's a really big family, and so, it was sort of like a family reunion.
[guests cheering]
Sarah Dugdale: "What's your favorite scene you've shot so far, even if you're not in the scene?" For me, this season, my favorite scene that we shot was under this beautiful cherry blossom tree. And it was fun and challenging and heartbreaking and kind of the breaking point for both of our characters.
Kai Bradbury: Shooting the burr hole procedure with Doc, there was a lot of props to juggle, and we had medical consultation, and it was very detail-oriented. That was a really challenging, fun scene.
Zibby Allen: From @court.held. Sounds very serious. "Who is the biggest jokester on set?" I feel like I'm up there with everyone. Like, with, like, the top three of the jokesters. Martin Henderson is hilarious. Honestly, Preacher — Colin — is a runner-up, that guy. He's real funny.
[CLIP] Zibby Allen (as Brie Sheridan): [laughs] Oh, it's on.
Benjamin Hollingsworth: @Redhead687, "Would you actually want to live in Virgin River if it was a real place?" Of course. It's beautiful. We got the best people in the world living there. And, you could just like, "Brady, want to go for a motorcycle ride?" I'd take you, redhead.
Sarah Dugdale: @Tamaradunn12 asks, "What's the best spot on set?"
Kai Bradbury: Easy. Craft services.
[both laugh]
Zibby Allen: "Who is the funniest actor, and the most serious one?" Like I said, Martin's very funny. I'm hilarious. Colin's also very funny, to me. The most serious is Ben Hollingsworth. That guy needs to lighten up.
[CLIP] Benjamin Hollingsworth (as Dan Brady): Get out!
Benjamin Hollingsworth: @80vera asks, "What was it like, to be directed by Martin Henderson?" Uh, gosh. It was a dream, actually. He's such a nice guy. He's got such an eye for what makes scenes special.
Alexandra Breckenridge: He's a great director. It was his first time, if you can believe it. I was very impressed.
Martin Henderson: Oh, you were?
Alexandra Breckenridge: I thought you did a great job.
Benjamin Hollingsworth: The scene where I get off my motorcycle and I'm with Lark, and she's surprising me with the motorcycle shop. It's kind of a special scene because you see Brady experiencing something that no one's ever done for him before, which is support him in his dream. Martin came up to me. He's like, "You know, it's that feeling when someone really, truly believes in you and then goes over and above." He kind of put it in perspective with acting. It's like someone giving you a ticket to LA and first month's rent. It was … It hit home for me. So it made the scene that much more dynamic.
Kai Bradbury: Being an actor, he brings, like, excellent qualities and detail and nuance, coming from where we're coming from.
Sarah Dugdale: Yeah, it was really, really cool to get to work with him on his directorial debut.
Kai Bradbury: Yeah.
Richard Keith: @ Dakotarose76 asks, "If you could pick something for dinner at the bar, what would you pick?"
Erin Cardillo: Oh, uh… truffle fries?
Richard Keith: Yeah. Absolutely. I agree.
Tim Matheson: Well. Ooh, well, OK. Preacher, this season, made some paella. That's what I would have. I just got the hunch that anything Preacher does is pretty darn good.
Annette O’Toole: Yeah.
Tim Matheson: And I would probably be a fan of his desserts.
Annette O’Toole: Yes.
Tim Matheson: You know? And I would bet he makes a great smash burger.
Kandyse McClure: @Allisonquinn612, "If you weren't acting, what would you do?" "I'm obsessed with your show." Is it weird to say I'm also obsessed with the show, Allison? I would probably be … building community gardens somewhere. I'm always in the garden. It's what I do to de-stress.
Benjamin Hollingsworth: I love hockey. And when I was young, I used to play a lot. Um, I was pretty competitive and kind of had to choose between acting and hockey. Yeah, I think being a hockey player, uh, would be a lot of fun. Maybe minus the missing teeth.
Alexandra Breckenridge: “When are Alex and Martin going to do another cooking show?” We've been really busy this year.
Martin Henderson: We have, haven't we?
Alexandra Breckenridge: It's been crazy.
Martin Henderson: Been working our little twerkin' butts off …
[Alexandra laughs]
Martin Henderson: … here at Virgin River.
Zibby Allen: "What Taylor Swift song would you use to describe Brady and Brie?" "I Knew You Were Trouble." [clicks tongue]
Benjamin Hollingsworth: It's “Bad Blood.”♪ Baby, we got bad ♪[record scratches] I'm not singing again!
[CLIP] Zibby Allen (as Brie Sheridan): I heard you went all Mission Impossible into a sinkhole and saved a little kid.
[CLIP] Benjamin Hollingsworth (as Dan Brady): I heard you went all ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ in the courtroom to save Preach.
