Shyanne: When Jack first came up to me and brought up the idea of going on Temptation Island, I was not for it.

[upbeat music playing]

Shyanne: We met at the Juice WRLD concert back in 2019, and he happened to be backstage with one of his friends, and I was front row with a couple of my friends. 

Jack: We hung out from that day, and we've been together ever since.

Summit: We actually met, uh, almost a year ago, and we were introduced via a mutual friend. This mutual friend is one of my best friends from my fraternity. They used to get with each other. 

Kaylee: Well, we used to go on dates. It was not just getting physical.

Summit: Right. 

Mikey: Sydney had a boyfriend in college. Yeah, so we both went to the same university. When we were in school, I had a girlfriend too.

Sydney: When I didn't have a boyfriend, and I thought he didn't have a girlfriend because that's what he said, that's when the bad taste got put in my mouth.

Scarlett: We've been together for a year and a half. We just moved in, like, two weeks ago.

Cole: Last Sunday.

Scarlett: Yeah. So, it's very, very recent.

Cole: Yeah.

Scarlett: It's been wonderful so far. 

[CLIP] Scarlett: Um, so I have a few notes.

[Mark and Scarlett chuckling]

Kaylee: We both have strong opinions, and we're both very alpha. So when we get into an argument, it's hard for us to see each other's sides because we both always want to be right, and then we kind of explode.

Summit: It's like two —

Kaylee: I don't put up with his bull****. 

Summit: It's two goats, like, going at it, butting heads, and neither one is gonna back down.

Kaylee: He told me he was not willing to change and become the person that I needed him to become in order for me to be, like, happy in the relationship. And he was like, “I will never be what you need. Like, you need to go find someone else out there.” I thought —

Summit: I didn't say that.

Kaylee: You did.

Summit: No, I didn't say that. 

Kaylee: You always would say there's someone else out there that will fulfill these needs.

Summit: Maybe I said that …

Kaylee: But it won't be me.

[CLIP] Kaylee: Okay.

[CLIP] Mark L. Walberg: Okay. 

[CLIP] Kaylee: It shows me that he is still in denial of where the relationship is lacking.

Shyanne: We have had some situations in the past where he has not been the most loyal. I'm like, "Oh my God, you hooked up with her?" I finally got it out of him. I was like, "I'm leaving right now." "If you don't tell me the truth, I'll never talk to you again." And so he kind of just confessed everything and he told me what happened.

Jack: I got drunk. We were together, but we weren't together. You had gotten mad at me like you always do, and you're like, "We're not together." 

Shyanne: I did not say that. 

Jack: Well, it doesn't matter. 

[CLIP] Shyanne: This is what I mean.

Mikey: We took a break, like, three or four times. Sometimes they were long breaks. Sometimes they were a week break. Sometimes they were a month break. [chuckling] And I wouldn't hear from Sydney and I would be blocked for a whole month.

[CLIP] Sydney: [exclaiming] Yeah. I can finally move the **** on with my life. [chuckling]

Summit: We have lots of trust issues. Just kind of the reason that we wanted to go on to Temptation Island is like, it's basically my inability to commit. And I almost purposely got lazy in the relationship. 'Cause I was like, “I don't know if I'm ready to move in with someone and get a dog.” 

Kaylee: Really?

Summit: Yeah.

Kaylee: You've never said that before. Temptation Island could either make him realize what an amazing woman he has, or it could also lead him into temptation and decide that he wants something else. I don't know. He might give in to one of the girls. And if he does, I will never take him back. If we can resist that being apart for, I don't know, a month, then I think we can probably get through anything. 

Cole: If we can go on, you know, into this environment, immerse ourselves in an area where we're quote-unquote tempted, show her that there's nothing to be worried or scared about, and that I'm truly fully invested in her and committed to her. Coming out on the other side, I don't think she'd have questions in terms of that.

Scarlett: I don't know. You know, I do know that he loves me so much, but I don't know when there's hot girls surrounding you, how do you react?

Shyanne: I don't think that I will be tempted unless I see that Jack has fallen for the temptation. Then I kind of look at it as it's game on. And that I'm not gonna sit here and get my feelings hurt. 

Jack: You have to open up your mind and meet these people. But overall, I don't think it's gonna be something that tempts me into, you know, falling for the temptation at all.

[pop music playing]

Shyanne: I mean, it's either gonna end really good, or it's gonna end really bad. If it ends really good, it's gonna help us out so much. And if it ends really bad, then maybe that's what was, I don't like to say this, but meant to be. 

Summit: If we can get through Temptation Island —

Kaylee: The future is bright.

Summit: Yeah. 

Sydney: We decided that we need to create a stable foundation and prove to each other that we can both do this. 

Mikey: The next step is moving in together, signing the lease with both of our names on it, and starting a future. And don't tell her I said this, I'm definitely gonna hang up the jersey and pull out a ring. 

[CLIP] Sydney: I was true to you. I wanted to be with you. But at the end of the day, I had to realize that I was settling.
