‘Life on Our Planet’: See How the CGI T. rex Was Designed 

The Life on Our Planet creative team explain how they designed the most realistic T. rex possible for the Steven Spielberg dinosaur documentary. Paleontologist Dr. Tom Fletcher, visual effects supervisor Jonathan Privett, director-producer Adam Chapman, and series producer Dan Tapster all weigh in. 

This is the story of life’s epic battle to survive on planet Earth. Today there are 20 million species on our planet, yet what we see is just a snapshot in time — 99% of Earth’s inhabitants were lost to our deep past. The story of what happened to these dynasties — their rise and fall — is truly remarkable. In partnership with Industrial Light & Magic, the filmmakers used the latest technology and science to bring long-extinct creatures back to life. Life on Our Planet reveals the incredible story of life on Earth.
