The sparkling sequel to the movie musical Wicked — Wicked: For Good — is now streaming on Netflix. Part 2 picks up after Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) steals the Grimmorie, the most powerful spell book in Oz, from the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum). Elphaba has realized he has no magic of his own and is using her to subjugate sentient Animals across the land. Hiding out in the Ozian Forest, Elphaba tries to build a resistance to fight for Animal rights and expose the Wizard as a fraud. Meanwhile, her best friend, Glinda (Ariana Grande), publicly renounces Elphaba and works for the Wizard to reassure the people of Oz that all is well under his rule — never mind the disappearance of their Animal neighbors. Secretly, Glinda works to broker a reconciliation between Elphaba and the Wizard, hoping to bring her bestie back into the light. When that meeting goes horribly wrong, all hell breaks loose, and a battle for the future of Oz is ignited by a tornado and a little girl from Kansas. Can Elphaba and Glinda’s friendship weather this chaos?

Along with Erivo (Luther: The Fallen Sun) as the Wicked Witch of the West, Grande (Excuse Me, I Love You) as Glinda the Good, and Goldblum (Kaos) as the Wizard of Oz, Wicked: For Good stars Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton), Ethan Slater (Gen V), Bowen Yang (Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld), Marissa Bode (Wicked), Colman Domingo (The Four Seasons), and Michelle Yeoh (The Brothers Sun). Directed by Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians) and written by Winnie Holzman (You People) and Dana Fox (The Lost City), the fantasy film is adapted from the 2003 Broadway musical Wicked. The musical is based on a 1995 novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire, who wrote the story as a revisionist twist on L. Frank Baum’s book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
