Lisa McGee, who based that beloved series on her real-life experiences at a Catholic school during the final years of the Troubles, is back with a new adventure: How to Get to Heaven From Belfast, an eight-episode comedy thriller about three longtime friends who go on a frantic mission through Ireland and beyond to uncover the truth.
A few of the new movies and shows on Netflix this week are fresh debuts by familiar favorites. Salvador, a Spanish high-octane drama about an ambulance driver who learns his daughter is involved with the wrong crowd, is created by Aitor Gabilondo (Wrong Side of the Tracks, Muted).
State of Fear, a Brazilian action movie about a lawyer with underworld ties who tries to rescue her kidnapped niece, is Pedro Morelli’s spin-off of his two-season series Brotherhood. And Yoh! Bestie, a South African rom-com about a love triangle ahead of a destination wedding, is a feature follow-up to Tiffany and Johnny Barbuzano’s Yoh! Christmas series.
