





In the new romantic comedy Wedding Season, Pallavi Sharda and Suraj Sharma star as two singles who pretend to date to keep their meddlesome Indian American families from hassling them to get married. Their scheme seems to work, but there’s one thing they didn’t plan for — falling in love.

Australian actor Sharda stars as Asha, an ambitious and idealistic economist who left Wall Street to secure loans for women in developing countries. Hoping to ease the pressure from her mother to find a husband, she decides to fake a courtship with local bachelor Ravi.
Sharda played Megan Chapman in the Netflix sci-fi series The One and Preeta in the 2021 movie version ofTom & Jerry. She also played the lead in Australian comedy series Retrograde and starred in the British historical drama series Beecham House.

Suraj Sharma stars as Ravi, a prospective suitor for Asha who looks great on paper — former spelling bee champion, MIT grad, start-up founder — but some things don’t add up. He reluctantly agrees to go along with Asha’s plan, wanting to make his parents happy, but he’s also afraid to disappoint them.
Indian actor Sharma made his debut in the titular role of director Ang Lee’s Life of Pi. He currently plays Sid on the Hulu sitcom How I Met Your Father and played Rakesh Singh on CBS’s God Friended Me.

Veena Sood plays Suneeta, Asha’s overbearing mother, who’s fixated on wedding her daughter to a suitable bachelor. A shrewd negotiator, she pressures Asha into accepting a date with Ravi.
Canadian actor Sood plays Dr. Gupta in the Netflix kids’ action series Super PupZ. She’s appeared in numerous TV shows and movies, including The X-Files and Robert Zemeckis’ Welcome to Marwen.

Rizwan Manji plays Vijay, Asha’s father, who tries to temper wife Suneeta’s zealousness but stays just neutral enough to avoid getting into trouble. While he’s proud of his daughter’s accomplishments, he worries that she’s too idealistic.
Manji played Ray Butani on Schitt’s Creek and Reverend Jax on NBC’s Perfect Harmony. He’s also appeared in movies such as Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator and Michael Bey’s Transformers.

Arianna Afsar plays Priya, Asha’s sister, who’s about to get married to a non-Indian man, Nick. While she has her parents’ blessing, she’s still nervous about breaking tradition. Meanwhile, she warns Asha that her fake relationship with Ravi could blow up in her face.
Afsar appeared as Kathy in writer-director Rhyan LaMarr’s drama Canal Street. As a teenager, she competed on Season 8 of American Idol, performing “The Winner Takes It All” by ABBA.

Sean Kleier plays Nick, Priya’s fiancé, who desperately wants to gain her parents’ approval by showing his enthusiasm for Indian culture. A bit clueless, he doesn’t realize how uncomfortable his attempts to fit in make Priya feel.
Kleier played Agent Stoltz in the superhero comedy Ant-Man and the Wasp. He also played the titular role in the Lifetime drama Chris Watts: Confessions of a Killer.

Manoj Sood plays Dinesh, Ravi’s father, who disapproves of Ravi’s lifestyle choices and urges him to keep his past failures a secret if he wants to find a wife. Hoping to secure a marriage for Ravi, he inflates his son’s accomplishments.
Canadian actor Sood played Rajiv Sharma in the TNT sci-fi series Snowpiercer and Dr. Chandra in the CBS drama series Salvation.
