Learn the Lincoln Lawyer’s Fate in the First 2 Minutes of Season 2, Part 2

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo weighs in on where Part 2 picks up after that midseason finale cliff-hanger.

    March 5, 2024

🤐 SPOILER ALERT 🤐

If you think there’s something off about parking garages, you’re not alone. The Lincoln Lawyer leading actor Manuel Garcia-Rulfo would heartily agree with you. “They’re just scary,” he told Tudum in June. “They freak me out.”

And who could blame the man who plays Mickey Haller? After all, his character is left for dead after taking a brutal beating in his law office parking lot at the end of Season 2, Part 1.

Parking garages really don’t have the best track record in the series. This season’s murder victim, Mitchell Bondurant (Clint Carmichael), is killed in a garage. Jerry Vincent (Paul Urcioli) is shot in a parking garage in Season 1 — and Mickey is also held at gunpoint in the same garage before this season’s attack. But the curse of The Lincoln Lawyer parking garage isn’t a coincidence. “It’s just a funny thing in Michael [Connelly’s] books,” said showrunner Ted Humphrey. “So we decided to have some fun with it this season.”

But don’t worry, you don’t have to wait any longer to learn Mickey’s fate. You can watch the first few minutes of Season 2, Part 2 above right now.

The Part 2 premiere doesn’t leave us hanging for long, diving right into answering the biggest burning question — namely, is Mickey alive?! The verdict is in: He sure is. His driver (and confidante), Izzy (Jazz Raycole), finds him in the garage and calls an ambulance.

The jury’s still out, though, on where he stands with Lorna (Becki Newton) post-op. He berates her over the phone before his attack for losing track of their client Lisa Trammell’s (Lana Parrilla) life rights.

But really, he’s mad Lorna calls him out for not having his head on straight since he met Lisa. Garcia-Rulfo thinks he lashes out because, deep down, “he knew she was right and that got into him,” he said. “The truth got into him.” And after all, the truth is what drives Mickey Haller.

As for who took the papers? Garcia-Rulfo thinks Mickey has some ideas. “I think he knows where it went or who took it,” he said. “I think he even thrives on obstacles, you know?”

Get back behind the wheel with Mickey when The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2, Part 2 premieres on Aug. 3.
