Before Vinnie Jones (Snatch, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) became Hollywood’s go-to tough guy, he was one of the most feared players in English soccer.
Now, the former FA Cup–winning midfielder for Wimbledon FC is adding “head coach” to his resume as he joins the Netflix Sports Club in a new role. Jones will lead Netflix’s largest ever UK slate campaign, celebrating the unconventional icons and culture-defining stories of 2026 in sports.
“We ain’t here to play games,” Jones says. “If you want normal, jog on.”
Jones stars in a new campaign video where he and a team of analysts — including Liverpool great Jamie Carragher — observe, critique, and coach fans attempting to recreate iconic moments and celebrations in English soccer history.
The upcoming UK sports lineup kicks off a busy summer of soccer for Netflix that includes the Untold UK documentary series, Mourinho, and The Rest Is Football, a show that will stream daily during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted by soccer legends Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, and Micah Richards.

Jones is one of the subjects of the latest round of Untold — the critically acclaimed sports documentary series — that expands to the UK to dive deep into the world of soccer.
Premiering weekly on May 12, the UK iteration includes three documentaries covering Jones’s unique and controversial career on and off the pitch, unlikely Premier League legend Jamie Vardy, and Liverpool’s miraculous 2005 Champions League–winning team.
Twenty years after leading FC Porto to a shocking Champions League victory, José Mourinho — currently coaching Benfica — is the subject of Mourinho, which tracks the legendary career of the all-time great manager. Formerly the mastermind behind such teams as Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and Manchester United, Mourinho was previously featured in a past episode of The Playbook.
Finally, Netflix will celebrate the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer with The Rest Is Football, a daily show hosted by the legendary trio of English soccer greats Lineker, Shearer, and Richards, who are taking their popular podcast to the screen.
