Based on the incredible true story of Lenore Lindsey, ‘Tis So Sweet follows a Chicago bakery owner who is stunned by an incredible discovery that inspires her to reclaim lost time, heal old wounds, and find purpose in life’s unexpected miracles. The news story went viral in November 2024.
Taraji P. Henson (Straw) will play Lenore Lindsey, and Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott (aka Joey Bada$$) (Two Distant Strangers, Creed) will also star. Below, meet the rest of the cast of ’Tis So Sweet, which started filming in Atlanta and will premiere on Netflix in 2026.
Tasha Smith (Mayor of Kingstown) will direct the film, which was written by Randy Brown (Miracles from Heaven). DeVon Franklin and Tyler Perry will produce. Tony Strickland and Angi Bones will executive produce for Tyler Perry Studios, alongside Bart Lipton.
Straw, which premiered in June 2025, marked Henson’s first lead role in a Netflix original. The film, which received praise from critics and fans, spent five weeks on the Global Top 10 Movies (English), racking up 106.3 million views.
