What happens when two cops with very different lifestyles and backgrounds are forced to team up after a decade? Chaos and mayhem, of course, with a side of comedy.
The Takedown, the upcoming French-language film from Lupin director Louis Leterrier, follows Ousmane Diakité (Omar Sy) and François Monge (Laurent Lafitte) as they’re forced to work together for the first time in years. “The unlikely pair are reunited once again for a new investigation that takes them across France,” the official synopsis reads. “What seemed to be a simple drug deal turns out to be a high scale criminal case wrapped in danger and unexpected comedy.”

In the newly released trailer, we get a glimpse at just some of the obstacles faced by Ousmane and François as they travel and search together. Of course, there’s plenty of action along the way, from explosions to vehicles tipping over mountainsides to a car chase that gets just a little bloody. But by the end of their partnership, they just might be “a real duo” — if they can overcome their differences first.
The Takedown explodes on screens on May 6, but you can get your first look at the trailer below.
