Peyami is a famous tailor who’s just put on a successful runway show, despite the antics of his chaotic best friend, Dimitri. The celebration is short-lived, however, after his grandfather’s death threatens to unearth what he’s too ashamed to confront. But he’s not the only one concealing the truth: Dimitri is holding his fiancée, Esvet, captive — until she runs away and assumes another identity while working as a caretaker for Peyami’s father. Created by executive producer Onur Güvenatam (Another Self, The Protector), The Tailor tells the story of three intersecting lives and the secrets that could tear them apart.

When Peyami receives news of his grandfather’s death, it puts him face-to-face with his family — and his difficult past. Peyami’s father, Mustafa, has a disability, for which Peyami was mercilessly bullied as a child. So when Mustafa and Peyami’s strict grandmother, Sülün, moves to Istanbul to live with Peyami, he hides his father from everyone around him — including his childhood best friend, Dimitri. Soon, Peyami finds a caretaker for Mustafa, not realizing he’s just hired Esvet, who’s run away from her fiancé and abuser, Dimitri, and is now hiding out under a different name. As the series unfolds, Dimitri’s, Esvet’s and Peyami’s secrets come to light in ways that threaten their livelihoods.
