The Lincoln Lawyer is cruising onto Netflix this May, and you can check out a trailer right now. The new series from creator David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies, Anatomy of a Scandal) follows Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), a bold and brassy Los Angeles defense attorney who works out of the back of his Lincoln Town Car. After a fellow attorney is murdered and leaves behind a hefty caseload, Mickey has to juggle a tech magnate’s murder trial with his own cases, as well as an increasingly messy personal life. To top things off, he’s being followed, and it’s hard to lose a tail when your car is a part of your nickname.

The trailer gives us a glimpse at all that (legal) drama, as well as a look at the show’s talented cast. Neve Campbell and Becki Newton star as Mickey’s first and second wives, Maggie and Lorna, respectively. Angus Sampson plays Cisco, Mickey’s investigator (and Lorna’s boyfriend — like we said, Mickey’s personal life is messy). Christopher Gorham takes on the role of murder suspect Trevor Elliott, and Jazz Raycole rounds out the cast as Mickey’s new driver, Izzy.
If you’d like some required reading while court is adjourned, the series draws most of its inspiration from Michael Connelly’s second Lincoln Lawyer novel, The Brass Verdict. But remember: If you spoil the ending, we’ll hold you in contempt of court.
Watch the trailer below. Court is in session May 13.
