We’re screaming and crying because The Homo Schedule is coming. Dun, dun, dun! Produced by Most and Multitude, The Homo Schedule, Netflix’s first LGBTQ+ podcast, takes an entertaining and honest look at the lives of LGBTQ+ creatives across different industries, while also celebrating their success stories through a humorous lens.
The Homo Schedule was created and produced by lesbian actor, singer/songwriter and podcaster Jasmin Savoy Brown (she/her, The Leftovers, Yellowjackets, new Scream movie), who co-hosts with producer and nonbinary actor, comic and playwright Liv Hewson (they/them, Santa Clarita Diet, Yellowjackets, Let It Snow, Bombshell). Don’t worry: No cannibalism is involved. On their show, Brown and Hewson interview queer trailblazers and explore the funny — and sometimes ridiculous — parts of the LGBTQ+ experience.
“It’s joyful; it’s inquisitive; it’s welcoming. I think it’s a real reflection of the LGBTQ+ community and I hope our listeners feel the same. Interviewing guests this season made me a better person. Hearing people's unique stories and perspectives on life and happiness was a learning experience and I don't take that for granted,” Brown says. Hewson adds, “Part of the impetus behind this podcast was creating a space to talk about being LGBTQ+ in entertainment that centered on something other than pain. The pain is there, of course, but the joy is too! We want to live in joy.”
The Homo Schedule’s weekly episodes will include guests such as Bex Taylor-Klaus, Natalie Morales, Ally Beardsley, Javicia Leslie, Caleb Hearon, Carmen Maria Machado, Leo Sheng and Fortune Feimster. Get ready to be corrupted into celebrating the successes of the LGBTQ+ journey when the first episode drops Monday, Jan. 10.
