Admit it, you’ve rewatched Sweet Magnolias so much that you’ve memorized Ty’s pitching stats. Season 4 is coming, and here’s a new, different kind of refresher: an interactive version of the heartwarming show’s first season. This time, though, it’s you rebuilding your life after tragedy finds you back in your hometown. 

Did you stay or did you go?

By the time you reach the final choice in Netflix Stories: Sweet Magnolias, you’ll have picked a partner, forged unforgettable bonds with new besties, and maybe even grown fond of the town of Serenity. But what happens after you make your choice? 

• If you sell your aunt’s manor: Before you leave Serenity in the rearview forever, you go back one more time before closing the sale. Did you make a mistake, or did you make an investment in your future? It’s too late to take it back at this point. Unless you restart the chapter, of course. 
   
• If you keep the manor: A photographer’s life can take you all over the world. Having a place to call your home away from home is always welcome. Pick this ending and you’ll wind up back at the manor a month after a European trip.
   
• If you stay in Serenity: Margarita night never has to end. After all, you’ve put so much energy into your aunt’s manor and creating lifelong friendships, it’d be a shame to leave. If you make this choice, you’ll spend the summer with your newfound family, the Sweet Magnolias. 

Digging into Serenity’s secrets

As a photographer, your character is naturally curious. As you play, you’ll find photos of the townspeople and Sweet Magnolias you’ve formed bonds with. 

Some photos are harder to get than others. For example, you’ll only be able to unlock the entire body of work if you play all the way through multiple times and make different choices for life and love. If you want all of them, you’ll have to maximize your relationship standing with each person, which sometimes means prioritizing one over another. 

It’s not like someone is going to walk up to you and just befriend you right away. No, it takes  time to develop a bond to the point that they feel safe enough to be vulnerable around you.

This old manor

As you progress through the story, you’ll see how the passage of time affects not just the Sweet Magnolias’ promising respite, but that of your own space as well. At key points, progress is made on the renovations to your aunt’s manor, and you’ll see this reflected in the backdrops of your conversations. A shabby foyer that’s seen far better days is transformed by new decor. The exterior gets an overhaul too, and it’s not long before you see overgrown hedges and drooping trellises give way to fresh landscapingand a revamped gazebo. 

Small town, big love 

Dating in a small town is hard. The talent pool is decidedly more limited, and it seems like everyone knows everyone. Making matters worse, it seems like everyone you bump into in Serenity has an eye for the new kid in town. Here’s a look at who’s vying for your attention:

• Nathaniel/Jacqueline: Within moments of being back, you run into an old flame. Literally. Nathaniel or Jacqueline (depending on the preferences you set during avatar creation) crashes into your car. It’s then that you discover the driver is none other than your ex. Well, this is gonna be awkward, isn’t it?  
   
• Ace: Speaking of old flames, there’s Ace to consider. Your childhood sweetheart with the dreamy eyes is one of the handiest in Serenity and you sure could use some help with your aunt’s manor. 
   
• Camila/Matias: Moments after assessing the state of your aunt’s manor –– and the toll 30 years and a big storm has taken on it –– you discover a squatter. Namely, a teenager who’s determined to stay as long as possible. Good thing your neighbor Camila or Matias is next door. Not only are they the hottest things on Serenity’s singles market — aside from you, of course — they’re amazing at wrangling teenagers and the raging hormones that come with them.
