In this modern reimagining of the beloved franchise, the Scooby gang will include Mckenna Grace (The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Regretting You) as Daphne Blake, Tanner Hagen (The Pitt, Dark Light) as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson (Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret; Carousel) as Velma Dinkley, and Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space, The Bondsman) as Fred Jones. With a very special dog by their sides, the team will crack haunting cases, but in this iteration, fans will get to see where Mystery Inc. got started.
The series, which explores how the teens first teamed up, follows old friends Shaggy and Daphne during their final summer at camp. The two get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have witnessed a supernatural murder. With help from the pragmatic and scientific townie Velma and the strange but ever-so-handsome new kid Freddy, they set out to solve the case that’s pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.

For more than 50 years, Scooby-Doo has been a pop culture powerhouse that continues to thrill fans across generations. Netflix will expand the world of these fan-favorite characters just as it’s done for other franchises like Wednesday, the No. 1 series on Netflix’s Most Popular English TV List; ONE PIECE, which recently debuted its second season to rave reviews; Stranger Things, which will continue to super-serve its massive fandom with the upcoming animated series, Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85; and Bridgerton, a show that consistently pierces the cultural zeitgeist, igniting global trends as fans celebrate their passion for the ton.
Also previously announced, the series is being executive produced by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, as well as Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman (via Berlanti Productions), André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Adrienne Erickson (via Midnight Radio). Toby Haynes will also serve as an executive producer and direct the premiere episode.
