    July 10, 2025

Fans of anime and manga rejoice — more SAKAMOTO DAYS are ahead. Part 1 of Season 1 launched Jan. 11, and Part 2 will feature 11 episodes released weekly on Mondays starting July 14, only on Netflix. You can watch the brand-new Part 2 trailer, which features Jacob Bertrand (Cobra Kai). He joins the world of SAKAMOTO DAYS as the English voice of Gaku.

The popular manga written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki tells the story of the legendary ex–hit man Taro Sakamoto, who taps back into his former combat skills in order to protect his newfound “normal” life and family. In Season 1, Part 1, we saw Sakamoto and his team defeat the powerful assassins unleashed by the mysterious “X (Slur).”

Part 1 of the first season of SAKAMOTO DAYS spent 10 consecutive weeks on the Netflix Global Top 10 TV (non-English) list.

“I want to express my gratitude to the fans, whose support made all of this possible,” Suzuki told Netflix. “I hope you will continue to join me in building up SAKAMOTO DAYS! Please enjoy the show!”

What is SAKAMOTO DAYS about?

When Sakamoto meets Aoi, the convenience store clerk, it’s love at first sight — and just like that, he retires.

Sakamoto gets married, has a daughter, opens a mom-and-pop store in a quiet town, and completely transforms into a larger man. To ensure a peaceful life with his beloved family, the legendary ex–hit man bands together with comrades to face off against the looming threat of assassins.

Sakamoto and company run wild in no-holds-barred, over-the-top battles that have stolen the spotlight and captivated audiences far and wide. In a world overrun by assassins, like the special force “The Order” from the Japanese Association of Assassins and the mysterious X (Slur), Sakamoto questions the true meaning of strength.

Get ready for nonstop assassin action as chaos ensues in the ordinary (and extraordinary) life of Sakamoto and his comrades.

Director Masaki Watanabe aimed to capture the manga’s intensity. “When I first had the chance to read SAKAMOTO DAYS, I remember how electrifying the powerful action scenes were,” he told Tudum before the launch of Part 1. “Keeping that feeling at the heart of production, I want to take all the components unique to the screen — movement, color, and sound — to make SAKAMOTO DAYS a dynamic and fast-paced anime, while keeping in mind the humor sprinkled throughout the original. We intend to faithfully portray the character of Sakamoto, the family man and the killer who doesn’t kill. Our staff are putting their all into this, so stay tuned!”
