Yes, Chef! Jeremy Allen White has cooked his way to a Screen Actors Guild Award.
White won for outstanding male actor in a comedy series during Sunday’s 29th Annual SAG Awards for his portrayal of Carmy, a young chef who leaves the fine dining world to take over his late brother’s Chicago sandwich shop in The Bear.
“I love actors, I love what I do and I feel so lucky to get to do it,” White said as he accepted his award. “And to all of you that make things here, that make me feel a little less lonely, that make me feel a little more connected, more understood and a lot more understanding — I thank you so much.”

The FX series quickly became a fan favorite following its premiere last summer, with its mix of high-stress restaurant drama and family strife (of both the blood family and kitchen staff family varieties). A second season is being served up later this year.
This was White’s first Screen Actors Guild Award nomination and win — he beat out Barry co-stars Anthony Carrigan and Bill Hader and Only Murders in the Building duo Steve Martin and Martin Short. He’s also nominated as part of The Bear’s overall ensemble cast, alongside Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott, Edwin Lee Gibson, Corey Hendrix, Matty Matheson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
