Comedian and Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson still has plenty to say about girlfriend Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband, Kanye West.
During his stand-up set at the Netflix Is a Joke Fest, as can be seen in Pete Davidson Presents: The Best Friends, a spray-tanned Davidson admits that the last year has been, for lack of a better phrase, “weird.”
“I don’t get it. A lot of people are very angry at me,” Davidson says. “It’s always 50-50 when I go outside... either someone’s like, ‘Hey, man, you’re really cool,’ or someone’s like, ‘Ayo, fuck you! Fuck! You! Yeah, you!’”
But it comes with the territory when you’re dating one of the most famous women in the world who has recently divorced one of the most celebrated artists of all time. And West hasn’t hesitated to offer his opinions on the pairing.
“I had an AIDS scare this year,” Davidson said. “And you’re like, ‘Pete, wow. What’s going on in your life? Are you sharing needles? Are you doing heroin? Are you having tons of unprotected sex?’ No. Kanye told me I had AIDS. And he’s a genius, so I was like, ‘Oh, fuck.’ I was like, ‘I better call my doctor. The guy who made College Dropout thinks I have AIDS.’”
Davidson confidently assured the sold-out audience that a doctor concluded he doesn’t have AIDS, “I just look like I have it.”
While his friends and family don’t have much advice to offer Davidson on the unique situation he has landed in, Davidson appears to have a sense of humor about it.
“Does anybody else secretly hope that Kanye pulls a Mrs. Doubtfire?” Davidson asked. “I come home one day and they’re like, ‘This is the new housekeeper,’ and he’s like, ‘What’s up, Fam?’”
Honestly, we’d watch that.
