The Pogues are about to face their biggest adventure yet in Outer Banks Season 3. Premiering Feb. 23, the newest chapter picks up with John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), JJ (Rudy Pankow), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss) and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) living their best lives on the desert island of Poguelandia. Their loved ones don’t know of their whereabouts, while the Pogues are unaware of the Season 2 finale bombshell that John B’s dad, Big John (Charles Halford), is alive.

Over the past two seasons, each character has gone through their own journeys, from uncovering deep family secrets to being framed for cold-blooded murder. In these new Outer Banks Season 3 character posters, it’s clear that there’s more at stake for everyone involved. “The Pogues realize that their adventures in the first two seasons were merely the prelude to the granddaddy of all treasure hunts,” say series creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke. With their treasure gone and a newfound freedom in Poguelandia, there’s nothing left to lose… or is there?

John B

John B has had his fair share of run-ins with the law. After avoiding foster care and clearing his name of murder, he’s experienced more than the average teenager. Despite all that life’s thrown at him, his mission to find his dad –– who was presumed dead at sea –– has never been deterred. What will a John B and Big John reunion mean for the show’s protagonist and his pack of Pogues?

Sarah

After leaving her family behind on the ship to Guadalupe, Sarah’s one of the Pogues now. She’s survived being lost at sea, witnessed her brother commit murder and her dad dying in an explosion — only to come back from the dead. Sarah is constantly having to choose between two worlds: Topper (Austin North) or John B, Kooks or Pogues and her family or herself.

JJ

There’s no one more willing to take a risk than JJ. He’ll do anything for his friends, even if it means sneaking them out of jail. Coming from a broken home with an abusive father, JJ has always had to rely on himself. Thankfully, the Pogues have taught him the importance of letting down his guard and leaning on others. He may be quick-tempered, but JJ will always speak what others are afraid to say.

Kiara

Kiara’s devotion to the Pogues has caused a rift between her and her parents. They were already worried about her ditching work and getting into trouble with her friends, but now that she’s missing at sea, this could be the last straw. She’s also left her Kook upbringing behind to join the Pogues — and there’s no going back now.

Pope

As the smartest one in the friend group, Pope seems to know everything — except for when it comes to his own family history. In Season 2, he discovers that he’s a descendant of Denmark Tanny. This leads him on another high-stakes hunt for the gold Cross of Santo Domingo, only to lose it to the Camerons. However, he’s not done trying to claim what’s rightfully his.

Cleo

Cleo knows how to put up a fight, and she’s just the person the Pogues need as they embark on their next adventure in Season 3. She first met John B and Sarah in Nassau and helped the Pogues escape Ward’s (Charles Esten) wrath at the end of Season 2. Now that she’s a Pogue for life, she’s about to learn what that really means in Season 3.

Rafe

It’s Rafe (Drew Starkey) against his own sister, Sarah. Thanks to his privilege and the backing of his dad Ward, this Kook has evaded murder and arson charges. And yet, he feels like he’s never enough in Ward’s eyes. The constant need to prove himself as the man of the family has driven Rafe toward madness. If you thought he couldn’t get any more evil, you’ll want to brace yourself. 

Topper

Topper’s proved that he’s more than just an arrogant Kook. After losing Sarah to John B, he’s willing to do anything to get her back — even if it means putting Sarah’s best interests first and occasionally helping out the Pogues. 

Ward

The Cameron family patriarch will go to any length to protect his children, but he’s also proof that not all fathers know best. With his household now divided, Ward is on the run after trying to cover up for Rafe’s crimes. Is it too late to make amends with his children and restore peace in his family?

Outer Banks Season 3 premieres Feb. 23.
