This week’s Global Top 10 just got a little bloodier. After premiering last Friday, psychological thriller Choose or Die is already the second most-streamed English-speaking series with a total of 16 million hours viewed. Starring Iola Evans and Sex Education’s Asa Butterfield, the film follows two teens who play a retro ’80s video game in order to win a massive cash prize. They quickly realize that it’s no Monopoly, however. With each level, the teens must make life-or-death decisions as the game warps their reality in deadly ways. The only exit button is a fatal one that neither wants to go near.
Adding to the bloodshed is Spanish drama Elite Season 5, the most-streamed non-English series with a total of 67.4 million hours viewed. With a new school year underway, the Las Encinas students are already back at it with more murders and plenty of scene-stealing smooches. As the first episode alludes to yet another student’s brutal murder, a new slate of suspects comes to light. At this point, bloodstains and chokers are becoming the hottest accessories at the posh private school. Will these teens survive high school and make the grade or add to the growing body count?
