Dignitaries, Netflix talent, VIPs, and more are in the House — the Netflix House Philadelphia, that is.
Last night marked the grand opening of the first-ever Netflix House, an engaging space where fans can play, explore, and taste their way through beloved shows and movies, at King of Prussia. Talent from many of those beloved titles, including Wednesday’s Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez and Hunter Doohan, ONE PIECE’s Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star Lana Condor, Emily in Paris stars Ashley Park and Lucien Laviscount, and WWE Superstar Chelsea Green attended the official Housewarming Party. Even Sesame Street resident Elmo graced the red carpet — which, by the way, matched his signature look perfectly.
Netflix Co-CEOs Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters kicked off the celebration by presenting Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, State Senator Amanda Cappelletti, and State Representative Tim Briggs with the symbolic “Key to Netflix House,” alongside other Netflix executives. “We imagine folks coming here and wandering the halls of Nevermore Academy from Wednesday, or maybe going on a daring adventure with pirates from ONE PIECE, or playing golf in the universe of Bridgerton,” Peters said. “We also see it as yet another reason for fans from out of town to travel here, to eat in local restaurants, stay in local hotels, and enjoy everything that not only this mall but this whole area has to offer.”
Philadelphia’s own DJ Jazzy Jeff performed at the festivities as guests toured the featured experiences, Wednesday: Eve of the Outcasts and ONE PIECE: Quest For the Devil Fruit, enjoyed themed food and beverages from Netflix BITES, and participated in Netflix V/RTUALS. Kevin Woo of KPop Demon Hunters chilled under the Christmas lights of the Byers’s living room from Stranger Things while Ordonez, Doohan and Paulino played Top 9 mini golf. Park and Laviscount posed as characters from Big Mouth and The Gentlemen, and Green showed off her WWE championship belts.
Additional guests who enjoyed an exclusive first look at Netflix House Philadelphia included Cristina Martinez and chef Ann Kim from Chef’s Table, Benjamin Hollingsworth from Virgin River, and JoAnna Garcia Swisher from Sweet Magnolias, as well as Netflix House partners Simon Mall COO Eli Simon, Saks Global President and CEO Ian Putnam, and executives from Comcast/Xfinity, Coca-Cola, and Mastercard, and Netflix creative partners from Shondaland, Shueisha, Tomorrow Studios, Darren Star Productions, and MGM/Amazon.
