It's one thing to tell you that Money Heist: Korea — Joint Economic Area is the highest of high-stakes thrillers, but it's another to see it. In the teaser trailer for the new series, a remake of the Spanish hit La casa de papel, you can see just how perilous a task our heroes have ahead of them.
The 12-episode drama takes place in an alternate near-future where North and South Korea are on the verge of peaceful reunification. In preparation for the landmark event, the countries decide to print a new unified currency. But as the realities of capitalism begin to creep in, a group of expert thieves from both regions, led by genius strategist The Professor (remember him?), team up to steal the new cash straight from the mint. Clad in matching red jumpsuits and masks, the thieves will infiltrate the new building and hopefully pull off the biggest heist ever. (Sure, not every heist can be the biggest ever, but trust us, this one really is.)
Part 1 of Money Heist: Korea debuts June 24 on Netflix and stars Yoo Ji-tae (Oldboy, Healer), Kim Yunjin (Shiri, Lost), Park Hae-soo (Squid Game, Prison Playbook), Jeon Jong-seo (Call, Burning) and more top-tier talent. It’s directed by Kim Hong-sun (Voice, Black).
