There’s no madness in the Matilda multiverse, just a bunch of “revolting children.” Class is about to begin at Crunchem Hall Elementary School, and here’s your pass to get a first look at Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, adapted from the 2011 Tony and Olivier award–winning musical.

Emma Thompson stars as the terrifying Miss Trunchbull, and she might make you pee your pants in this teaser. However, Matilda Wormwood (Alisha Weir) won’t let the tyrannical principal get in her way. Neglected by her family, the child prodigy turns to books and gets lost in the wondrous world of literature. Despite being mistreated by adults, Matilda discovers her special telekinetic powers and makes some friends along the way — including her kind-hearted teacher Miss Honey (Lashana Lynch).
In this upcoming musical retelling of Roald Dahl’s novel and the 1996 film, Matilda’s imagination and mischief comes to life through electrifying songs and dance numbers. The cast also includes Stephen Graham as Mr. Wormwood, Andrea Riseborough as Mrs. Wormwood and Sindhu Vee as Mrs. Phelps. Get ready to roll up your sleeves and fight back against the bullies, because Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical will be in full swing this holiday season.
