Make way for the Mother. Jennifer Lopez traded in her cargo pants for a sparkly, midriff-revealing beige ensemble on the red carpet (well, technically it was a black carpet) for the premiere of her latest action thriller on Wednesday, delighting crowds of fans lining up outside the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles to catch a glimpse of the actor.
Directed by Niki Caro, The Mother stars Lopez as a military-trained sniper who comes out of hiding after more than a decade to protect the daughter she was forced to give up. As the two get to know each other under tense circumstances, the Mother gives12-year-old Zoe (Lucy Paez) tough love as she imparts life lessons and survival skills. That hard-earned trust and mentorship came alive on the red carpet, as Paez cozied up to her movie mom for a new lesson: how to dominate a film premiere.
The two were joined by Caro and members of The Mother cast, including Omari Hardwick (in a snazzy electric-blue suit). Also in attendance was Lopez’s husband, Ben Affleck, who shared a kiss with the star for the cameras. Check out the bold-faced attendees in the photos below, and stream The Mother on Netflix on May 12.
