When your smoke alarm is going off, you call the fire department — but when you’re feeling alarmed about how steamy your living room is getting, you probably shouldn’t call up the cast of High Heat. The soapy new drama from José Ignacio Valenzuela, the creator of Who Killed Sara?, follows a crew of dangerously gorgeous firemen. And we do mean dangerously. Murder, secret identities and illegitimate children: It’s all going down in this firehouse. (We sure hope this isn’t how our tax dollars are being put to work.) It can all be a little difficult to keep track of, so we’ve wrangled together a full cast guide to your favorite characters in High Heat.

An ex-convict accused of multiple murders, Ricardo is released from prison and quickly heads out to find his long-lost son — who may be closer than he thinks. He’s played by Eduardo Capetillo, who you might have seen in La otra cara del alma, Peregrina or Marimar.

María la del barrio and Hasta que el dinero nos separe star Itatí Cantoral takes on the role of Gloria, a firefighter’s widow who becomes romantically entangled with Ricardo. She’s also the head of a boarding house for young women — sort of like a firehouse that doesn’t fight fires.

Olivia is one of 300 female firefighters in Mexico City and the only one at Comandante Raúl Padilla Arellano station. Olivia is recommended for a medal of merit after saving a colleague from a fire — all while juggling a relationship with brooding new recruit Poncho. She’s played by Esmeralda Pimentel, a model and actor best known for her roles in Verano de amor and No Man’s Land.

Poncho, one of the series’ protagonists, is a new fireman with a secret: He’s actually investigating the mysterious death of his brother. He’s played by Iván Amozurrutia, the star of Dark Desire and Preso No. 1.

Daniel is Poncho’s murdered brother, the character who sets the events of High Heat into motion. He’s played by Mauricio Hénao, star of Mi familia perfecta and Médicos. First doctors, now firemen: Is there anything this man can’t do?

Oka Giner (who took on the role of Blair in Gossip Girl: Acapulco) plays Leonora, a mysterious figure who may know more about Daniel’s death than she’s letting on. She may only play a small role in the first episode, but stick around: She’s got a lot of secrets.
