The modern, magnificent monochrome doors of Las Encinas are open once again, so get ready for a semester of homework, group projects and — just kidding! This is Elite. Get ready for murder, blackmail, lavish parties, love triangles-turned-threesomes and probably more murder. The show’s fifth season arrives April 8, and these new photos offer a first look at some new characters, sweet friendships and tense moments between a few beloved returning students.

Samu (Itzan Escamilla), Omar (Omar Ayuso), Rebe (Claudia Salas) and Cayetana (Georgina Amorós) will all return to the halls of Las Encinas. We’ll also see more of last season’s newcomers, including strict principal Benjamín (Diego Martín); his kids Ari (Carla Díaz), Patrick (Manu Ríos) and Mencía (Martina Cariddi); and Phillipe (Pol Granch). Three new characters will also join the ensemble cast: Iván (André Lamoglia), heiress Sofía (Valentina Zenere) and Eric (Adam Nourou), who seems to have a connection with Omar.

Season 5 will pick up in the aftermath of Armando’s (Andrés Velencoso) brutal murder. Rebe and Mencía are together, but they’ll undoubtedly have some issues to work out — as will Samu and Ari. No word yet on whether we’ll ever see Guzmán (Miguel Bernardeau) again, but at least Armando’s out of the picture… even though the ripple effects of his behavior in Season 4 will, inevitably, continue to play out.

The first-look photos below tease a tense conversation between Rebe and Cayetana; a sweet hug between Rebe and Omar; and a shot of all three Blanco siblings chatting in the hallways.
